Terms of Service — CouldBeTheOne
Draft, not legal advice. This was written to match what the product actually does (see `docs/prd.md`), as a starting point. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Given the audience includes 13–17 year-olds, get real legal review — including on minors' contract capacity and any applicable youth-privacy law in your launch markets — before this goes live.

1. Who can use CouldBeTheOne
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you confirm you have a parent or guardian's permission to use the app. Age is self-declared at sign-up — we don't independently verify it, but lying about your age is a violation of these Terms and grounds for account removal.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google. We don't have or store a separate password for your account. You're responsible for whatever happens under your account, so keep your Google account secure.
3. Your profile
- Your handle (`@yourname`) becomes part of a public link (`couldbetheone.app/@yourname`) that anyone with the link can view — it is not searchable or listed inside the app, and we ask search engines not to index it, but a link you share publicly (e.g., in a bio) can end up anywhere.
- Anything you put in your bio, handle, or question answers is visible to anyone who opens your link.
- You can change your handle at any time in Settings. Doing so immediately breaks your old link — anyone who still has it will get a "not found" page.
- Don't impersonate someone else, post contact info you don't want strangers to have, or use your profile to harass anyone.
4. Testing someone's profile / Together mode
- Testing a profile or completing a Together session creates a private result only you (and, if you choose to reveal yourself, the profile owner) can see.
- We score matches as a simple percentage based on shared answers — it's a lightweight, for-fun signal, not a scientific or psychological assessment of compatibility.
5. Content rules
Don't post anything that is illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving a minor, or that impersonates another person. We run automated filtering on bios and handles and act on reports; violating this can get your content removed or your account suspended or banned, at our discretion.
6. Reporting and enforcement
Anyone can report a profile or a result. We review reports and may warn, suspend, or ban an account as a result. We don't tell the reported user who reported them.
7. Ending your account
You can stop using the app at any time. Contact us to request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is." Match percentages, "aligned/differs" breakdowns, and anything else the app tells you about compatibility are for entertainment purposes, not advice of any kind.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
